- What does your price include?
- The rates quoted cover my time from when I arrive at your home until I finish the work. There is a minimum charge of £20 which covers up to half an hours work. The only additional cost will be for materials which you can buy yourself, or I will supply at cost.
- Will VAT be added?
- No. There is no VAT to pay for my time. I am an independent trader and my turnover is below the level required to charge VAT.
- How is time charged?
- After the first half hour my time is charged at the rate of £20 per hour for jobs up to 4 hours. You will only be charged for the actual time I take. For example: 30 minutes or less: £20, 45 minutes: £25, 1 hour: £30, 1 1/2 hours: £40, 2 hours: £50 etc. These examples show the total cost you will pay, other than for materials. For jobs over 4 hours an estimate will be provided.
- What about materials?
- I carry a supply of small parts (screws, nails etc) for common jobs and would not charge you for these, other parts would be charged at cost. If you would like me to get additional materials I can but would have to charge for my time. Alternatively you could supply the materials yourself.
- How does your price compare to other handyman services?
- I aim to give my customers an excellent service and good value for money. I am an independent trader so do not have the overheads of the larger companies offering handyman services. Some of the larger companies charge £40 to £50 for half an hours work and a similar amount per hour after that. For a two hour job, for example, I could save you over £60 compared to some leading services.
